Forgot password = account inaccessible!!!
If you forget your password, access to your monkkee account will become inaccessible. This is serious — there is no “forgot password” function and we cannot send you or reset your password.
That sounds harsh, but it is a conscious design decision: your data belongs to you alone, and only you have access to it. This also means that only you can know your password.
You can no longer log in
If you have really forgotten your password and can no longer log in, there are only two realistic options:
- The password hint will help you: If you provided a password hint when registering, you can have it sent to you. The hint is intended to help you remember your password — but it doesn't contain your password itself.
- You enter your account: If the password hint doesn't help you, you can delete your account. You can then create a new account with the same email address.
Use the password hint
If you have stored a password hint, you can have it sent to you at any time on the login page. The hint will be sent to you by email and is intended to help you remember your password.
Request password hint on the login page
Important: The password hint is just one Thought support. It never contains your actual password.
If nothing helps: delete your account
If you really can't reconstruct your password and the password hint doesn't help either, then your only option is to delete your account and start over.
You can find more information about this in the article Delete account. You can also delete your account without logging in - just use https://monkkee.com/account/delete_account.
Save password securely
The best protection is to save your password well from the start:
- Password manager: Use a password manager like Bitwarden, 1Password or similar tools. They store your password securely encrypted.
- Password hint: Leave a good password hint to help you remember without your password appearing in it.
- Physically note: Write down your password and keep it in a safe place, that only you have access to.
Since there is no password recovery, the effort is worth it.
